Accessible Film Studies Curriculum

The Methodology

Bus Stop Films participants are successful in these programs due to the way our curriculum, lessons and teachers engage and deliver the training.

The curriculum focuses on student engagement through a number of teaching models including:

  • Social constructivist learning
  • Observation and
  • Modelling

This methodology creates an inclusive filmmaking experience as students are introduced to industry mentors and professionals to help facilitate the classes and provide external excursions.

The methodology comes to life through the curriculum, tasks and activities for the students as it focuses on  incremental learning at a student’s own pace.

The Outcomes

Students will learn film knowledge and craft skills in order to become film-literate and become film practitioners.

The curriculum supports transformational skills through the medium of storytelling and film-making students will improve their language and communication skills, social and cognitive skills, collaboration, and work-readiness skills/life skills.
